Bhubaneswar: Odisha police have collected a fine of Rs 1,28,84,180 from violators for violating lockdown guidelines including not wearing masks and Rs 11, 74,350 has been collected for breaching COVID-19 social distancing guidelines, said DGP Abhay.
The lockdown is underway to combat the deadly coronavirus, with the men in khaki trying their best to make people understand the importance of the lockdown.
The violators were booked under the provisions of the Orrisa Urban Police Act (OUPA).
Meanwhile, police have again urged residents to walk to local markets for buying essentials. They said there is no shortage of vegetables and groceries and people should not believe rumours.
Police have also said that they are ready to help any person in case of trouble.
