Bhubaneswar: Odisha has been witnessing a downward trend in the COVID graph in the last four days. While 761 people were found infected on Monday, the number of new cases was 853, 911, 986 and 1041 on Sunday, Saturday, Friday and Thursday respectively.
Among those who tested positive in the last 24 hours are 101 in the age group of 0-18 years. With this, the state has seen 1049 children and adolescents contracting the virus since August 15 when the government started mapping the paediatric population.
According to the I & PR department, 443 of the new infections are from quarantine and 318 local contacts. Two districts – Khurda (289) and Cuttack (117) accounted for over 53 per cent of the total new infections. Boudh, Nabarangpur, Jharsuguda and Sonepur reported one case each, while there were zero new infections in Nuapada, Koraput and Kalahandi.

With these cases detected from 60,791 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 1.25 per cent.
Odisha now has 8917 active cases. Khurda continues to be the red zone with 3447 active cases.
