Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha continued to remain below 800 on Thursday as 771 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The infection rate in the age group of 0-18 years was 15 per cent. A total of 117 children and adolescents were found infected during this period.
The state had seen 762, 638, 609 and 719 new cases on September 8, 7, 6, and 5 while the infection rate among children on these days was 13.3 per cent, 14.5 per cent, 20 per cent and 16.27 per cent respectively.
According to the I & PR department, 448 of the new infections are from quarantine and 323 local contacts. Khurda registered the highest of 372 cases followed by Cuttack at 71 and Balasore at 41. Boud, Gajapati, Balangir and Kandhamal reported nil cases.
With these cases being detected from 65,037 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 1.18 per cent.
