COVID Alert: Two Afghanistan Returnees Test Positive In Delhi
New Delhi: Two Afghan returnees tested positive for COVID-19 after landing in India on Monday.
A total of 146 Indians, evacuated from Afghanistan, reached Delhi via Doha on Monday morning.
Of them, two were positive for coronavirus infection, confirmed Rajinder Kumar, Nodal Officer of Delhi government for COVID testing of Afghanistan returnees.
According to current guidelines for foreigners arriving in India, the duo will be placed in isolation and tested for COVID-19 again before being allowed to go out.
India has been allowed to operate two flights per day to evacuate its nationals from Kabul.
Indian Air Force (IAF) has brought home over 180 officials, including Ambassador to Afghanistan. India has been evacuating Indian nationals through Tajikistan (Dushanbe) and Qatar (Doha).
