Bhubaneswar: The Municipal Corporations in Odisha have been directed to sensitize resident welfare associations (RWAs) to ensure availability of isolation facilities in their apartments/colonies along with all logistics for the treatment of mild symptomatic COVID-19 patients.
This follows the state government’s decision to allow home isolation of asymptomatic/mild symptoms COVID-19 patients.
“Since RWAs play a crucial role in decision-making on their campuses, their involvement is absolutely essential in the establishment and management of COVID Care Homes. They shall also have to be trained and tuned to coordinate with ULBs and Health Department officials as and when required,” the official notification said.
However, it should be ensured that all health protocols are followed strictly without any deviation, it said.
Besides, COVID Care Homes will also be set up near bigger slums for treatment of patients having mild symptoms, it added.
