COVID Crisis: Central Ministerial Teams To Spot Assess Situation In These Four Hotspot States
New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has constituted six Inter-Ministerial Central Teams (IMCTs) for on-spot assessment of the COVID-19 situation in four states including West Bengal, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
The teams will also issue necessary directives to the respective state authorities for redressal of the “specially serious” situation there, according to a release by the ministry.
Of these teams, two each will be deployed for West Bengal and Maharashtra and one each for Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
“After analysing the prevalence of such violations in major hotspot districts, it is clear to the Central government that the situation is especially serious in the above mentioned areas and expertise of the Centre needs to be used,” the release said.
“The IMCTs will focus on complaints of implementation of lockdown measures as per guidelines, supply of essential commodities, social distancing, preparedness of health infrastructure, safety of health professionals and conditions of the relief camps for labour and poor people,” it added.
