Bhubaneswar: Odisha has been witnessing a rise in daily caseload after the COVID graph plunged to 886 on August 9 after nearly four months. The following day, 1041 more people were found infected and another 1078 the day after.
The last 24 hours saw 1107 more COVID infections, taking the active cases tally to 10853.
According to the I & PR department, 646 of them are in quarantine and 461 local contact cases.
Khurda again reported the highest 397 infections followed by Cuttack at 130, Balasore (66) and Jagatsinghpur (53). Boudh reported nil cases.
With these cases being detected from 64802 swab samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) for the day stood at 1.70 per cent.

The total cases include 82 from the state pool.
According to the state dashboard, Khurda continues to be in the red zone with 3842 active cases. Cuttack has 1321 active cases.
