COVID Help Desks For Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups Open In Odisha’s Rayagada
Rayagada: The district administration on Saturday opened COVID ‘Sahayata Kendras (help desks) for the particularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs).
Inaugurating the help desk at Khambesi PHC under Bissamcuttack block, project administrator, ITDA, Rayagada, Tuku Barik said Tte second wave of COVID-19 has severely affected people of Odisha including the PVTGs. The help desks will play an important role to provide valuable information regarding the virus, appropriate health and nutrition behaviour and myths amongst the SC, ST and PVTGs to fight against the pandemic.
Besides, mobile awareness vehicles were flagged off for promoting awareness in the community on COVID appropriate behaviour and mobilising the people for vaccination.
The inaugural ceremony was organised by Child in Need Institute (CINI) in partnership with CSR wing of IndusInd bank Ltd with support of the district administration.
Dr Ansuprava Choudhury, medical officer, Community Health Centre (CHC) Bissamcuttack; CDPO Susila Sabar and medical officer in-charge, Khambesi PHC, Dr Unnati Rana; local tribal leader Jitu Jakesika and sarpanch Drinja Jakesika distributed wellness, hygiene and kitchen garden kits to the tribal families and frontline workers on the occasion.
