COVID Hospital Equipped With ICU, Ventilators In Odisha’s Nabarangpur
Nabarangur: A COVID hospital in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district has been equipped with 12 ICUs and four ventilator beds.
The District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), which has been converted into a COVID facility, lacked ICU facilities due to which the critical patients had to be referred to Jeypore or Koraput for treatment.
However, after upgrading the hospital which became operational from Wednesday, the locals heaved a sigh of relief.
The district has been in the red zone since the beginning of the second wave with patients pouring in from neighbouring Chhattisgarh, Nuapada and Kalahandi. Umerkote, Jharigam, Raighar, Chandahandi, Dabugam, Papadahandi, Kosagumunda, Nandahandi and Tentulikhunti have been the worst affected, stated a report in The New Indian Express.
The active case tally as on Wednesday stood at 3,215 with 2,968 patients kept under home quarantine. Collector Ajit Kumar Mishra, MP Ramesh Majhi, MLA Sadasiva Pradhani and PRIs were present.
