Bhubaneswar: The Test Positivity Rate (TPR) in Khurda district, which had turned into a COVID hotspot during the second wave, dropped below 5 per cent on Friday. The district is now in the GREEN zone with 4.5 per cent TPR.
Odisha on Friday had reported 3222 new infections and a TPR of 4.34 per cent. It was 4.17 per cent on Thursday and 4.45 per cent on Wednesday. The state has been testing over 70,000 samples for the last four days – 74,225 (Thursday), 74,000 (Wednesday), 75,649 (Tuesday) and 75,649 (Monday).

Highest TPR Districts:
1. Jagatsinghpur 11.5%
2. Cuttack 9.9%
3. Nayagarh 7.9%
4. Mayurbhanj 7.9%
Khurda, however, continues to remain in the RED zone with 5206 active cases. The other three districts in this zone are Cuttack (4381) and Balasore (2943).
In the last 24 hours, Khurda has reported 422 new cases and nine deaths due to the deadly disease. The highest of 619 cases were reported from Cuttack.

Khurda and Cuttack are in the 10 B Category, where stricter COVID guidelines are being imposed to contain the spread of the virus while unlocking measures have been initiated in the remaining 20 A Category districts.
