Berhampur: The Ganjam district administration has made COVID-19 negative report mandatory for bride, groom and family members attending the marriage ceremonies in the district.
The step has been taken amidst the rise in corona positive cases in the district.
In a message, Collector Vijay Amrit Kulange has urged all those attending marriages to get Rapid Antigen test done before participating in such functions.
Permission for marriages will be issued by the authorities concerned only for those testing negative, said the Collector and added that a maximum of 50 persons including the priest and bride-groom will be allowed.
On the other hand, collector has allowed home delivery of liquor from 6 am to 12 noon on weekdays. The facility will not be allowed during weekend shutdown.
