Berhampur: To check the spread of COVID-19 infection amid a surge in cases in Odisha, the Ganjam administration has capped the marriage-related functions gatherings in the district at 100.
Only packaged foods will be provided to the guests during the wedding, the order said.
“Anyone found violating this order shall be punished under the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and other relevant laws,” it added.
Ganjam, which was able to contain the spread of the virus after having turned into a COVID-19 hotspot, saw eight more people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
Earlier, similar restrictions on attendees were imposed in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and Nuapada district.
