COVID Resurgence In Bhubaneswar: AIIMS To Stop All Walk-In OPD Services; Check Details

Bhubaneswar: AIIMS-Bhubaneswar has decided to temporarily stop OPD services of all specialties and super-specialties Department departments temporarily from January 17. Some emergency services will continue.

The decision was taken following a considerable resurgence of COVID-19 positive cases in Bhubaneswar within a week and those affected included faculty, residents, staff and students of AIIMS, an official release said.

According to sources, 136 employees, including 38 healthcare workers and doctors of the premier health institute have contracted the virus.

SERVICES TO CONTINUE:
✓ Day Care services ✓ Radiotherapy ✓ Dialysis ✓ Trauma and Emergency
✓ Emergency and life-saving surgery. ✓ Telemedicine and teleconsultation services ✓ IPD services ✓ Pulmonary (vaccination R.MRC). ✓ Anesthesiology (PAC and Pain Clinic). ✓ Immunization for old registered patients (Wednesday & Friday) and Yellow Fever (Thursday) and ✓ COVID vaccination service.

While patients have been discouraged from attending OPD unless it is urgent,  those who already made their registration online can attend in their respective department by showing their online booking number at the entry gate, it said, adding that they enter the hospital premises with only one attendant (maybe 2 in case of emergency) adhering to COVID appropriate behaviour and protocols.

Patients’ overall routine check-ups will continue through AIIMS-Bhubaneswar Swasthya App and Telemedicine (WhatsApp call).

Telemedicine” Services: 9 am to 5 pm (Monday to Friday). and 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday

AIIMS Bhubaneswar Swasthva App: 8:30 am to 5 pm (Monday To Friday) and 8:30 am to I pm every Saturday.

If the treating doctor feels that the patient is in critical condition and should be seen physically, they can make an appointment either through Telemedicine or AIIMS Bhubaneswar Swasthya App Services, it further said.

Only emergency services will be taken up at the premier medical institute. All inpatients waiting for surgery in different surgical wards are to be operated on in a staggered manner.

RT-PCR negative report for both patients and an attendant is a must at the time of IPD admission, it added.
