Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will start home collection of swab samples of senior citizens for COVID-19 test from Monday.
BMC Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Singh told mediapersons on Saturday that since senior citizens are facing difficulties in reaching testing centres and keeping their vulnerability to COVID-19 in view, BMC will send COVID testing vans to their houses to collect swab samples.
“To avail the facility, senior citizens with COVID-19 symptoms will have to call 1929 and give their detailed address. The testing van will then reach their house and collect swab samples,” Singh added.
On the vaccination of senior citizens living alone, Singh said that those persons will have to call 1929 and provide detailed address. Arrangements will then be made to bring them to the vaccination centre and later drop them back at their residence post the jab.
