Bhubaneswar: The first consignment of 1 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine procured by the Odisha government arrived in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
A special cargo flight with the Covishield doses from Serum Institute of India in Pune landed at Biju Patnaik International Airport at 2 pm, the Additional Chief Secretary (Health), Pradipta Mohapatra, told the media.
Mohapatra informed that these doses will be earmarked for the 18-44 age group.
Notably, the state government had launched the third-phase of vaccination from May 1 for the inoculation of about 1.93 crore people in the 18-44 age group.
