Baripada: Among 28 new COVID-19 cases reported from the north Odisha district of Mayurbhanj in the last 24 hours, 20 are local contacts and one is a COVID warrior.
According to the district administration, one case each has been reported from Badasahi, GB Nagar, Jashipur, Karanjia, Morada, Rairangpur, Sukruli, seven from Thakurmunda, five from Tiring, two each from Kaptipada, Khunta and Udala Block areas. Besides, Baripada Municipality has reported two cases while one person tested positive or the virus in Karanjia NAC.
Of the above cases, seven persons are returnees from other states and among them, 4 are in institutional quarantine centres at Kaptipada and Karanjia blocks. Three cases have been detected among those under home quarantine in Thakurmunda Block.
With 505 recoveries, Mayurbhanj district now has 242 active cases.
