Berhampur: People of Ganjam district on Thursday took oath to further strengthen the fight against COVID-19 on the first day of the ‘COVID Week’ from September 24 to October 1.
General public, employees of state government and private organizations and others read out 10-point oaths at 11-30 am on Thursday. They vowed to cooperate and honour the ‘COVID Warriors’, observe the regulations and convince others to follow, always use the mask and ask the family members to wear the mask, follow the social distancing and strength the war against the pandemic.
Ganjam saw a turnaround from a high caseload to model district with robust healthcare, door-to-door surveillance and decentralised COVID management. Intensive testing, tracking and treatment helped bend the curve.
The activities during the ‘COVID Week’ include door-to-door health screening, awareness rally, rolling out the “Covid Sachetanata Rath”, special panchasutra enforcement drive, mass sanitation drive, special mask distribution drive, extensive testing campaign, identification of plasma donors, online Ganjam knowledge hub lecture series, health and nutrition webinars and online competitions for school students.
