Bhubaneswar: The crackdown on ganja smuggling continued in the state as Excise officials on Friday conducted raid on a shop on the outskirts of the city and seized the contraband weighing 1.5 quintal.
Acting on a tip-off, the Excise sleuths raided the shop in Padampur area under Balipatna police limits and seized the ganja worth Rs 11 lakh. One person was also arrested in this connection.
The ganja was transported from Kandhamal to Bhubaneswar.
On Thursday, three quintal of ganja was seized in Malkangiri district and one person was arrested.
In another case, 13.5 quintal of the narcotics was seized from a vegetable truck in Bengaluru. The local police claimed that it had links with Odisha.
