Crackdown On Two Gangsters in Odisha: Houses, Offices Razed To Ground
Balangir: Toughening its stand against anti-social elements, the administration on Saturday demolished houses, an office and a brick kiln belonging to two local ‘gangsters’ at two separate places in Odisha’s Balangir district.
Sources said, senior officials of the district administration along with police personnel pulled down a building and an office of notorious gangster Timan on patches of government lands illegally occupied by him in Balangir town. Balangir SDPO Tofan Bag was present during the demolition drive.
Briefing media persons, Balangir sub-collector Kumar Nagabhusan said that illegal occupation is being removed from the government land.
Timan has been jailed for his involvement in scores of criminal cases.
Moreover, the administration has launched a crackdown on another criminal Jaga Senapati in Patnagarh town of the district. Senapati had built a brick kiln and a building on the government land.
The illegal structures made by the accused were razed to the ground by bulldozers and earthmovers amid tight security in the forenoon. Senior officials of the administration and police officials were monitoring the demolition drive.
