Bhubaneswar: The Crime Branch has begun a probe into the gang-rape of a minor girl in Bhubaneswar.
The state investigating agency on Wednesday went to the office of the Odisha Television Ltd (OTV) and collected relevant information and issued notice to three employees including the personal assistant of the OTV MD Jagi Mangat Panda.
Besides, it has also collected the documents pertaining to the investigation from the Commissionerate Police.
As per the complaint lodged by a woman at the Mahila Police station on August 30, her 13-year-old daughter was gang-raped by seven persons including a policeman and some employees of OTV. As the woman was working as an employee of the OTV, she had apprised Jagi Mangat Panda of the incident. But she remained silent and sacked her from the job.
On the basis of the complaint of the woman, the Commissionerate Police had begun an investigation. Later, the Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR) and the State Commission for Women (SCW) had intervened in the matter.
