Crowd Of 50K To Welcome Odisha CM Tomorrow, Advisory Issued For Air Passengers

Bhubaneswar: Anticipating a huge gathering at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), Bhubaneswar, on Tuesday morning to welcome Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who is returning to Odisha after a six-day visit to Delhi where he was conferred with Lifetime Achievement, the Commissionerate Police on Monday issued an advisory for air passengers.

While 50,000 supporters of the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) are expected to gather at the airport from 8 am to 1 pm to participate in the grand welcome being planned for Naveen, who is also the party president, air passengers scheduled to board flights during these hours on September 6 have been advised to reach BPIA at least three hours prior to the scheduled timing.

A total 30 platoons of police force will also be deployed at various places in the city to regulate traffic while 100 senior police officers have been instructed to check security for the mega programme, sources said.

The CM left for Delhi on August 28 and interacted with ambassadors and envoys of at least 16 countries at Odisha Investors’ Meet, as a part of the curtain-raiser of the third edition of the Make-in-Odisha Conclave, the very evening.  This was the third investment roadshow after Dubai and Ahmedabad ahead of the mega-industry carnival from November 30 to December 4.

On Sunday, Naveen received Capital Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his distinctive and outstanding leadership qualities from Chief Justice of India N V Ramana. He dedicated the award to the people of Odisha who have reposed faith in him and given him an opportunity to serve them.
