Cuttack DCP Warns People About Food Delivery Fraud
Cuttack: Here’s a word of caution for people who regularly order for home delivery of food amid the prolonged COVID-induced lockdown.
In a tweet, Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh on Tuesday alerted denizens about fraudsters operating in the home delivery business and advised them to place orders only with reputed/trusted e-commerce platforms.
“The mobile phone numbers advertised on social media promising delivery of goods may be deceiving and you may not get the ordered items delivered even after paying the money,” the tweet added.
The DCP had earlier warned people about fake advertisements in search results. He advised them to ‘search safely’ the customer care service numbers and protect themselves from online fraudsters.
“Customer care numbers, helpline numbers may be taken from the official website,” it added.
The Cuttack DCP has issued two helpline numbers for Cyber fraud: 8895812304, 732807144.
