Cuttack: The suspected Cuttack serial killer, Narayan Sahu, murdered his victims to take revenge, Cuttack DCP Akhileshvar Singh told the media on Thursday.
“Two of the three deceased were instrumental in driving Sahu out of the house in which he was living. The accused has confessed that he killed the two persons,” the DCP said.
However, Sahu’s involvement in the Mangalabah murder case was being verified and no direct link of the accused was found during interrogation, Singh said. “We will take him on remand for eliciting further information,” he added.
Also on Thursday, Chauliaganj police said Sahu had given them details of his crime during a marathon interrogation over two days.
Following his confession, police took the accused to a place at OMP Square where two of the victims were found murdered on July 23.
Police recovered a sharp weapon from a garbage heap under the flyover. The accused had allegedly hidden it after committing the murders.
On Wednesday, Sahu’s family had accused police of falsely implicating him in the triple murder case.
