Keonjhar: High Flood in Baitarani river has disrupted road communication between Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts.
Sources said Keonjhar district had been experiencing incessant and heavy rainfall for the past 12 hours as of Thursday morning. As a result, Baitarani was flowing at a height of 3 feet over a bridge at Turumunga.
As a result, thousands of vehicles were stranded on both sides of the bridge on National Highway-49.
In Patana area, the river water has crossed the danger mark and touched the uppermost part of a vital bridge.
Besides, floodwaters have innudated a bridge at Bhimapatana on Patana-Keonjhar road, a diversion at Tangarpada, another diversion at Simulinala on Patana-Dhenkikot road and Sitapol bridge and Kanheinala bridge on Dhenkikot–Dumuria road. As a result, road communication to several panchayat areas has been disrupted.
