Cyclonic Circulation: Wet Spell Likely In Odisha For 3 Days
Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershower for three days from Thursday.
The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thundershower activity at one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore,
Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Gajapati, Ganjam and Kandhamal on Thursday.
Similar weather condition will prevail at isolated places in Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Koraput, Nabarangpur districts on Friday.
A few places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Gajapati and Ganjam will witness rainfall till Sunday morning.
Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre scientist Umasankar Das has attributed the weather condition to a cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand and the neighbourhood.
The weatherman, however, said that the day temperature in Odisha is likely to remain two to three degrees above normal during the next two days.
The maximum temperature in Bhubaneswar is likely to rise to 37 degree Celsius on Thursday. The city had recorded 35.6 degree Celsius at 8.30 am.
In the last 24 hours, the mercury soared above 38 degree Celsius at 11 places in Odisha, with Sundargarh recording the highest of 39 degree Celsius.
Sambalpur at 38.8; Jharsuguda, Hirakud and Boudh at 38.6; Angul, Talcher, Titilagarh and Malkangiri at 38.5; Bolangir at 38.3 and Sonepur at 38.0 degree Celsius were next to follow.
