Cyrus Mistry Death: FIR Against Dr Anahita Pandole For Negligent Driving
Mumbai: An FIR has been registered against Dr Anahita Pandole in connection with the car accident that killed former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry in Maharashtra’s Palghar district two months ago.
Anahita, an obstetrician and gynaecologist, was booked under charges of causing death due to rash and negligent driving under the IPC and Motor Vehicles Act.
Anahita was on the wheels of a Mercedes Benz which crashed into a concrete barrier while travelling from Gujarat to Mumbai on September 4.
She and her husband Darius Pandole were grievously injured, while Cyrus and Darius’ brother Jahangir Pandole – who were in the rear seats – died in the accident.
Darius was discharged last week, but Anahita is still under treatment in the intensive care unit of a Mumbai hospital.

Darius recorded his statement before police at his south Mumbai residence on Tuesday.
Palghar police registered the FIR on the basis of the final report by Mercedes after analysing the car’s data chip, and Darius’ statement recorded earlier this week.
Darius reportedly told police that his wife could not steer the car into lane 2 from lane 3 of the highway turned narrow near Surya river bridge.
