DA Case: ‘Crorepati’ Odisha RTO Arrested

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Monday arrested Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Nabarangpur, Ganeshwar Kanhar in a disproportionate assets case.

On March 6, Vigilance sleuths had conducted simultaneous raids on his rented house and office at Nabarangapur, properties at Bhubaneswar, Phulbani and Parlakhemundi and unearthed assets worth over Rs 1.5 crore.

An FIR was also registered against Kanhra on February 22 for allegedly demanding Rs 40,000 to regularise the job of a contractual data entry operator. The incident came to light after a video of the data entry operator, Laxinath Harijan, demanding his money back from the RTO went viral on social media.
