Bhubaneswar: A day after reporting a big jump of 8386, the daily COVID-19 caseload in Odisha dropped to 6,998 on Thursday.
According to the I & PR Department, 4054 are from quarantine and 2944 local contact cases.
Khurda recorded the highest of 919 cases followed by Cuttack (517), Sundargarh (474), Nuapada (420), Jharsuguda (396), Bargarh (330), Angul (325), Sambalpur (323) and Mayurbhanj (308).

These cases have been detected from 44064 samples sent for the COVID-19 test. The test positivity rate in the state has also dropped from almost 20 per cent to 15.88 per cent despite an increase in the number of tests.
With this, Odisha now has 57710 active cases.
The last 24 hours also saw 12 more people succumbing to the virus, pushing the toll to 2029.
