Odisha Crosses Daily 50K COVID-19 Tests

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has achieved a unique feat in the number of daily COVID-19 tests.

Briefing the mediapersons on Sunday, additional chief secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Pradipta Mahapatra said that the state has been able to conduct more than 50,000 tests on a single day, for the first time.

On Saturday, 52,795 tests, which include 10,240 RT-PCR, 42,414 antigen and 141 Truenat, were carried out.

He said that efforts were on to conduct as much test as possible to identify more patients to ensure their early treatment.

Odisha had set a target to reach the 50,000 daily tests by August 20. It had tested  47,887 on Friday.
