Bhubaneswar: Odisha saw a rise in daily COVID caseload for the third consecutive day on Wednesday as 221 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours against 156 on Tuesday.
The state had reported 123 and 112 COVID positive cases on Monday and Sunday respectively.
According to the I & PR department, 129 of the new infections are from quarantine and 92 local contacts. Among them, 34 are in the age group of 0-18 years. Khurda reported the highest of 93 new cases followed by Sambalpur (21) and Cuttack (15). Fourteen districts reported nil cases.

With these cases being detected from 63,290 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.34%.
While the affected tally has touched 10,54,381, Odisha now has 1,593 active cases.
