Bhubaneswar: Odisha has been witnessing a downward trend in the COVID graph in the last five days. While 625 people were found infected on Tuesday, the number of new cases was 761, 853, 911, 986 and 1041 on Monday, Sunday, Saturday, Friday and Thursday respectively.
Among those who tested positive in the last 24 hours are 80 in the age group of 0-18 years. With this, the state has seen 1,129 children and adolescents contracting the virus since August 15 when the government started mapping the paediatric population.
According to the I & PR department, 366 of the new infections are from quarantine and 259 local contacts. Khurda reported the highest of 214 new cases followed by Cuttack (56) and Balasore (50). Boudh, Nabarangpur, Sonepur and Balangir reported ni cases.

With these cases being detected from 53,527 swab samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 1.16 per cent.
Odisha now has 8443 active cases. Khurda continues to be in the red zone with 3268 active cases.
