Bhubaneswar: The COVID tally in Odisha breached the 10 lakh mark and stood at 10,00,084 on Saturday with 911 more people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
Among the new infections, 116 are in the age group of 0-18 years. While 531 are from quarantine, 380 are local contacts, the I & PR department said.
With these cases being detected from 71,264 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 1.27 per cent. The highest of 352 infections have been reported from Khurda alone. Eleven districts, including Cuttack (88) and Balasore (510), reported cases in two digits. Boudh, Nuapada, Nabarangpur saw nil cases.
The state has been witnessing a downward trend in new cases with 986 and 1041 infections being reported on Friday (August 20) and Thursday (August 19) respectively. The daily caseload had dropped to 720 on Tuesday (August 17), the lowest in almost four months, before rising to 993 again the following day.

Odisha now has 9497 active cases. Khurda continues to be in the red zone with 3680 active cases while Cuttack is in the orange zone with 1286 active cases.
