Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload breached the 10,000-mark on Thursday as 10059 more people, including 872 in the age group of 0-18 years, tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had seen 8778 new infections on Wednesday and 7071 on Tuesday against 4829 and 4717 on Monday and Sunday respectively.
According to the I & PR Department, 5833 of the new cases are from quarantine and 4226 local contacts. The highest of 3188 have been reported from Khurda followed by Sundargarh (1348), Cuttack (870) and Sambalpur (570).

With these cases detected from 81,065 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) increased to 12.40 per cent from 11.76 per cent the previous day.
While the COVID-19 tally has touched 1101606, Odisha now has 44349 active cases.
