Bhubaneswar: After a day’s gap, daily COVID cases in Odisha dropped below 200 on Monday with 179 infections being registered in the last 24 hours against 221 cases on Sunday. The state had reported 174 fresh cases on Saturday.
According to the I & PR department, 105 new cases are from quarantine and 74 local contacts. Among them, 30 are in the age group of 0-18 years.

Besides, eight are from the state pool.
With these cases being detected from 12,006 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 1.49 per cent. The active tally in the state continued to remain below the 2,000 mark at 1,723.
