Mumbai: After a long wait, the ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ lovers will get to see Dayaben in the sitcom soon.
Well, it’s not Disha Vakani, but a new actress who will be replacing her to play the much-loved iconic character of Dayaben.
Asit Modi, producer of the sitcom, had been conducting auditions for the character and has finally found someone perfect suited to play the role, revealed an insider.
“Yes, it is right. Asit ji had been looking for a new Dayaben, and recently, one of the auditions impressed him a lot. Mock shoots with the actress are underway. It’s been around a week that she has been here, shooting with us,” a source was quoted as saying by News18.
The source further revealed that mock shoots with the new actress are underway.
A few months ago, Asit told News18 Showsha that Disha would not be returning to the show as she is busy with her children.
“I am still trying. I believe Disha Vakani can’t be back. She has two children. She is like my sister. Even today, we have a very close relationship with her family. My sister Disha Vakani has tied a Rakhi to me. Her father and brother are also family to me. You work together for 17 years, and it becomes your extended family,” the producer said.
“It is difficult for her now (to return to the show). For women, life changes after marriage. Working with small children and managing the house is really a bit difficult for them. But I am still positive. I feel somewhere that God will do some miracle, and she will return. If she comes, then it will be a good thing. If for some reason she does not come, then I will have to bring another Dayaben for the show,” he added.
‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has been running successfully for 16 years.
