DCP Traffic Tweet On Mandatory Documents To Be Carried By Bikers In Odisha’s Twin Cities Creates Confusion
Bhubaneswar: It is mandatory for bikers in Odisha capital to carry driving licence, registration certificate, bike insurance policy, fitness and Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC) certificates, according to a tweet posted by DCP, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack.
The post created confusion among city denizens, who enquired whether documents uploaded in Digilocker and mParivahan were valid during inspection and also about the fitness certificate.
As per letter no RT11036/64/2017-MVL of 8th Aug 2018 from MoRT&H to all states, documents related to veichles which are uploaded & updated in Digilocker/mparivahan app are deemed to be legally considered as per the provisions of IT Act of 2000. pic.twitter.com/wwhAl5U86w

Btw do RTO provides separate fitness certificate for bikes? As far as I know a valid registration proves fitness in case of bikes. So please tweet factual things.

Previously state govt ordered that digilocker and mparivahan documents are enough so please give clarification regarding that.

1. What’s fitness certificate? Apparently nobody knows about it. Is it only for those vehicles which have crossed the 15 years mark ?
2. Please educate officers for digilocker/mparivahan usage
