New Delhi: Delhi Daredevils knocked out Mumbai Indians from Indian Premier League (IPL) after registering a 11-run win in their last league match on Sunday.
The trio of Sandeep Lamichhane (3/36), Amit Mishra (3/19) and Harsha; Patel (3/28) took crucial wickets for Delhi.
Facing a target of 175, Mumbai lost three wickets of Evin Lewis (48), Kieron Pollard (7) and Krunal Pandya (4) within five balls.
Though skipper Rohit Sharma (13) and Hardik Pandya (27) made a 43-run partnership, Mumbai struggled at 122 for seven in 14.5 overs.
For Delhi, Rishabh Pant scored 64 runs and guided his team to a decent total.
In the second match, Chennai Super Kings defeated Kings XI Punjab by five wickets. With the win, CSK sealed its qualification with the second spot, while KXIP was eliminated.
The win also helped Rajasthan Royal seal a spot in the play-offs.
Bowling first, Lungi Ngidi clinched four wickets to bowl out Kings XI Punjab for 153 runs.
Suresh Raina’s unbeaten 61 helped Chennai Super Kings chase the target with five balls to spare.
