Jakarta: Debris of an Indonesian plane that crashed into the sea were pulled out of the waters on Saturday.
A Boeing 737 aircraft of Sriwijaya Air’s flight No. SJ182 vanished from radar shortly after taking off from Jakarta and plunged 10,000 ft into the ocean.
The domestic flight was headed from the Indonesian capital to Pontianak in West Kalimantan province.
A desperate search for survivors has been launched after the rescue team suspected debris were found. There were 60 people on board, including the plane’s crew.
Of the 56 passengers, there were 46 were adults, seven children and three infants, the Mirror reported.
According to airport officials, the plane fell 10,000 ft in less than a minute, about four minutes after taking off.
