Bhubaneswar: Decomposed body of an unidentified youth was found in a forest area near under Info Valley police station in the city on Sunday.
According to sources, a stench coming from the area, some locals searched for its source and spotted the body. On being informed, police arrived at the spot and seized the body.
Police said the identity of the deceased person could not be ascertained by the witnesses as the body had almost totally decomposed. But the deceased was a young person, they said. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
However, the police suspected it to be a murder case from preliminary investigation as there were injury marks on several parts of the body. The identity of the deceased and cause of death would be known after getting post-mortem report and further investigation, they said.
