Delegation Extends Invitation To Puri Seer For Heritage Corridor Inauguration
Puri: A delegation from Jagannath temple administration had handed over the invitation card to Puri Shankaracharya Nischalananda Saraswati to inaugural function of the heritage corridor around the temple.
The delegates comprising chief administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Ranjan Kumar Das, management committee member Ashok Mohapatra, Durga Prasad Mohapatra and Madhab Chandra Mohapatra went to Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, where the Shankaracharya is present, on Friday.
The delegation extended the formal invitation to Puri seer to attend the function scheduled to be held on January 17, 2024 and sought his blessings for the project. The delegates also held a detailed discussion on puja, rituals and yajna to be performed on the day.
On his return to Puri in January, another delegation led by Puri king Gajapati Dibyasingh Dev will meet him and submit a traditional invitation.
Jagannath Kar, member of the management committee of the temple, said the Shankaracharya has accepted the invitation. A delegation will also visit the prominent religious places in the country to extend the invitation to the function, he added.
