Puri: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri town on Saturday and offered prayers at the 12th century shrine.
She was accompanied by Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma and Puri’s BJP MP Sambit Patra during her visit to the temple. The dignitaries, who were accorded a warm welcome by temple officials, paid obeisance to the sibling deities inside the shrine and sought their blessings.
Besides having darshan of the Trinity, the Delhi CM went around the temple complex for some time.
Gupta said that she is very fortunate that she could visit Puri for the first time and had darshan of lord Jagannath after assuming the responsibility of Delhi Chief Minister.
“I am very fortunate that after assuming the responsibility of Chief Minister of Delhi, I came to Puri for the first time and had darshan of lord Jagannath. I have prayed to the lord Jagannath that the path of progress on which we are trying to take the entire country and Delhi under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi should always remain clear,” she told reporters.
