New Delhi: The Tis Hazari Court on Saturday disposed of the bail pleas of co-owners in Delhi’s coaching centre drowning case as the matter has been transferred to the CBI for investigation by the Delhi High Court.
The court has granted liberty to the accused to approach the competent court.
Delhi police had informed the court that the investigation was transferred to the CBI.
Earlier, Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Rakesh Kumar-IV had called for a status report from Delhi police on the pleas of the co-owners of the basement – Tejinder Singh, Harvinder Singh, Parvinder Singh and Sarabjeet Singh. Their bail pleas were dismissed on Wednesday. The court did not consider the fact that the accused co-owners were not named in the FIR. It also did not consider the submissions and material placed on record by the accused and observed that the allegations against them were serious in nature, according to a NDTV report.
On July 27 evening, three students— identified as Shreya Yadav, Tanya Soni and Nevin Dalvin— died after rain water gushed into the basement of Rau’s IAS Study Circle in Old Rajinder Nagar.
