New Delhi: With the slugfest between BJP and AAP showing no signs of dying down, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday that his deputy Manish Sisodia should get ‘Bharat Ratna’ for reforming Delhi government schools, but is instead being hounded by the Central government because of political motives.
“The entire country’s education system should be handed over to him (Sisodia), but instead, they conducted CBI raids on him,” Kejriwal stated.
Sisodia, named in an FIR registered by CBI for alleged irregularities in the implementation of Delhi liquor policy, claimed earlier in the day that a BJP minister had called him with an offer to close all cases against him if he joins the saffron party.
“I have received a message from the BJP — break AAP and join BJP, will get all CBI and ED cases closed. My reply to BJP — I am a Rajput, a descendant of Maharana Pratap. I will cut off my head but will not bow down in front of the corrupt-conspirators. All the cases against me are false. Do whatever you want to do,” Sisodia tweeted in Hindi.
Calling AAP supremo Kejriwal his guru, Sisodia said that only the Delhi CM could help realise his dreams in the education sphere for every child in the country.
BJP scoffed at Sisodia’s claim.
“Manish Sisodia should do ‘pranayama’ every morning. Has he consumed bhang (cannabis)? He should tell the name of the person who asked him to join the BJP. Even if he rubs his nose on the floor, BJP will not take him,” BJP leader Parvesh Verma said.
The saffron party accused AAP of “breaking records in corruption”.
