Dengue Scare In Odisha Capital, Positive Cases Cross 2K
Bhubaneswar: Amid a dengue scare gripping Odisha’s capital, more than 40 cases were reported in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
But government sources said that the number of daily cases has actually dropped to 30-40 from the earlier 70-80 cases a day.
The number of cases in Bhubaneswar stood at above 2,000 till September 19, additional district urban public health officer Antaryami Mishra told Odisha Bytes.
While there are only 15 beds to treat dengue patients in Capital hospital, around 30 to 40 people with dengue symptoms are visiting the hospital daily, according to reports.
Damana, BDA Colony, Sailashree Vihar, Rasulgarh, Laxmisagar and Unit-VI are among the affected areas.
ASHA workers, BMC’s ‘Swachh Sathis’ and health teams are engaged in drives to check the spread of the disease and spread awareness across the city.
More than 500 dengue cases have been detected from the outskirts of the city.
