Bhubaneswar: The dengue outbreak has assumed alarming proportions in Odisha this year as it has spread to 28 districts.
Informing the media on Saturday, Director (Health Services) Braja Kishore Brahma said dengue cases have been identified in 28 out of 30 districts of the state till date.
“As against 412 dengue patients identified in the state last year, the number this year has gone up to 1841 till August 25,” he added.
Talking about the district-wise number of patients, Brahma said Khurda district has the highest 512 patients of which 492 belong to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) limits.
While the vector-borne disease claimed two lives last year, three have died this year, he added.
