Bhubaneswar: Dense fog will continue to prevail at some districts in Odisha till 8.30 am on Saturday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Friday
According to the mid-day bulletin, yellow warning has been issued for one or two places in Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur and Bhadrak districts. Shallow to moderate fog is also likely in Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Khurda, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Koraput during this period.
In the subsequent 24 hours, a few places in Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur may experience shallow to moderate fog.
A thick blanket of fog had engulfed Chandbali in Balasore, Cuttack and Gopalpur in Ganjam this morning, restricting visibility to 200 metres. Paradip, Bhubaneswar, Puri and Angul experienced shallow to moderate fog.
The MeT office further predicted a fall in night temperature by 2-3 degree Celsius across the state after two days.
After biting cold when the mercury dropped to 3 degree Celsius, the state has been witnessing a rise in temperature for the last few days. G Udayagiri was coldest at 6.6 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours followed by Phulbani in Kandhamal at 9 degree Celsius and Semiliguda in Koraput at 9.7 degree Celsius. The temperature hovered around 20 degree Celsius in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
