Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued dense fog warning for several districts of Odisha for the next three days.
It also forecast that the night temperature is likely to rise by 2 to 3 degree Celsius during the next 2 days and no large change thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha.
In view of IMD’s warning, the office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) issued an advisory for the police and transport officials of respective districts to take necessary steps for controlled playing of vehicles on highways during dense fog to prevent any road mishap.
Day-wise forecast regarding foggy conditions :
Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 13.01.2023): Dense fog very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Jajpur and Khurda.
Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 13.01.2023 up to 0830 hrs IST of 14.01.2023): Dense fog very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh and Kandhamal.
Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.01.2023 up to 0830 hrs IST of 15.01.2023): Dense fog very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Sonepur, Bolangir, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.
Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Balangir, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.
