Depression To Trigger Rain, Thunderstorm In Odisha
Bhubaneswar: The regional meteorological centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued an alert stating that rain and thunderstorm are likely to occur at few places in Odisha, owing to a depression over the Bay.
According to IMD bulletin, the depression over North-East and East-Central Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a deep depression. Under its impact, squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is likely along Odisha coast in the next 24 hours.
The fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea as conditions are expected to be rough to very rough.
Earlier this morning, the IMD has confirmed the onset of southwest monsoon in Kerala. The monsoon rain arrived three days in advance and expected to cover the whole country in next two months.
The monsoon is expected to touch Odisha coast by June 10, with pre-monsoon showers in the first week of next month.
