Khurda: A deprived family of Masania village under Begunia block in Khurda has sought euthanasia after being disappointed with the authorities following months of ostracism from their village.
Jay Krushna Sahoo, along with his family members appealed to the District Collector seeking ‘euthanasia’.
According to sources, Jay Krushna and his family members have been living on the village streets after forceful possession of their homestead land by neighbours.
Claiming ownership of the land, Krushna went to the tehsil office and District Collectorate but in vain. Then he sat on a ‘hunger strike’ in front of the tehsil office, till the tehsildar promised to look into the case. However, no action was taken.
Later, the villagers ostracised him and his family. They have been banned from entering the village temple and school etc.
