Bhubaneswar: An engaging Odia Diaspora Meet was organised in Ahmedabad, bringing together members of Odia community residing across Gujarat.
Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida attended the session, which was part of the ongoing Odisha Parab celebrations.
Among others present were Odisha Tourism Department director Deepankar Mohaptra, Special Secretary, Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department Deba Prasad Dash, Maheshwar Sahu and and H.K. Dash, president of the Odia Socio Cultural Association of Ahmedabad and chairman of Gujarat State Environment Impact Assessment Authority.
Deputy CM Parida, highlighted the growing synergy between Odisha and Gujarat, emphasising the immense potential for collaboration across sectors such as culture, trade, tourism and community development.
Parida said platforms like Odisha Parab go beyond being mere cultural showcases, as they are vibrant spaces for strengthening cultural ties, fostering mutual understanding and exploring new avenues of cooperation between the people of the two states.
Such initiatives help build lasting relationships that extend into social and economic domains, Parida said.
The meet saw enthusiastic participation from members of the Odia diaspora, who shared their experiences, journeys and enduring connection with their roots.
The three-day Odisha Parab, which was inaugurated on Saturday, has been drawing big crowds with visitors appreciating the rich display of Odisha’s art, craft, cuisine and tourism potential.
